2. Ethical framework and coach commitments

Alain Kuhni is committed to upholding the ethical and professional standards established by the International Coach Federation (ICF), with which he is pursuing accreditation.
In this capacity, he commits to:

• Adhering to the ICF Code of Ethics and pursuing his personal, professional and ethical development on an ongoing basis.

• Maintaining strict confidentiality. Everything shared within the coaching relationship is subject to the confidentiality principles defined by the ICF Code of Ethics. This means that no information may be disclosed by the coach without the express consent of the client. Certain exceptions are defined by law. The ICF requires that the names, contact details and total duration of sessions for each client be retained for verification purposes. This data is kept solely to meet the ICF’s verification requirements.

• Offering a safe, caring, respectful and non-judgmental space, grounded in trust and mutual respect — a space that honours the emotions, perceptions, convictions and suggestions of the client.

• Listening actively, asking relevant questions, and sharing useful observations.

• Encouraging the client to take action towards their goals.

The client is encouraged to familiarise themselves with the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies, available on the website https://coachingfederation.org.

3. Client responsibilities

The client is solely responsible for their physical, mental and emotional well-being, as well as for their decisions, choices, actions and results within the coaching relationship. The coach cannot be held responsible for the client’s actions or inaction, nor for the direct or indirect outcomes of the services provided.

Coaching is not a form of therapy and does not substitute for therapeutic or medical support where such support is necessary. It does not prevent, cure or treat any mental or medical condition. The coach does not guarantee any specific results.

The client may bring the coaching relationship to an end at any time.

4. Session format and structure

The pace, frequency and format of sessions are agreed upon mutually and may be adjusted during the course of the coaching engagement according to the client’s needs. Each session generally lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.
Sessions may take place:

• Online, for maximum flexibility
• In person
• In nature, with or without physical activity
• In a group

Various formats are available: per session (online or in person), half-day or full-day (in person), as well as packages covering several months of support and including various combinations. Packages are strongly recommended, as they allow for deeper work and more significant progress. Rates are discussed during the initial exploratory meeting.

5. Payment terms

Payments are made in advance, by bank transfer or online. Banking or payment details, as well as detailed terms, are specified in the coaching agreement.

6. Cancellation policy

Any cancellation or rescheduling of a session must be communicated to the coach at least 24 hours in advance. Any session cancelled without sufficient notice will be charged in full.

7. Languages

Sessions are offered in English and French. German is also possible.

8. Personal data protection

Within the context of the coaching relationship, Alain Kuhni collects and processes the following personal data: name, contact details, and information shared during sessions.

This data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nDSG) and, where applicable, the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Personal data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
• Managing the coaching relationship
• Meeting the ICF’s verification requirements
• Communicating with the client

They are under no circumstances transmitted to third parties without the express consent of the client, except where required by law.

The client has the right at any time to access, rectify and delete their personal data, by sending a request to: alain@alainkuhni.ch

Data is retained for a maximum period of five years after the end of the coaching relationship, and then deleted.

9. Applicable law
